The neighborhood I circled in this map has some awesome houses and pretty nice Xmas light displays, if that's your thing.

As far as music venues go:
Stubbs is a big venue where bigger artists go to. It's not a place that you can just pop on in. You'd have to get tickets to a show. You can go in the restaurant if you want, but the food sucks.
Elephant Room - Underground Jazz Bar. One of my favorite places to just catch a random show. There's a $5-10 cover on the weekends. Usually free during the week.
Continental Club - Lots of good country and jazz acts play here. Dale Watson is playing here on the 25th.
Mohawk - Cool venue, but like stubbs, you'll probably need to buy a ticket to get in.
All the places on dirty 6th (between S Congress and Red River) are pretty much free and lots of them have live music, but it'll mostly be cover bands and the like.
Emo's - similar to Stubbs. Toadies are playing there on the 26th.
Broken Spoke - Famous country dance hall. Dale Watson is playing there on the 26th.
I've never seen the appeal of this place. Been there once and the burger wasn't anything too special and the service was awful. I know it's been there a long time, but I prefer Hopdoddy for a sit down burger place, or P-Terry's for something to-go.
Is good, but I would have only recommended going there if it was at least 4-5 years ago. Austin has much better BBQ in the city now (see my previous post), but Salt Lick has a cool vibe. Just not worth the drive IMO.
Cooter has a point about 6th, but I don't think it's as bad as he says. It is a younger crowd and I wouldn't be worried about safety at all, unless there is some special event in town that attracts a bunch of riff raff (Texas Relays, Rot Ralley). It's a college and touristy scene.
Austin has a ton of breweries now. 4th tap, Adelberts, Circle, and Austin Beerworks are all within about a mile of each other. All good breweries. You could hop from brewery to brewery. If you are up in Georgetown, check out Rogness in Pflugerville for something closer.
I hope you enjoy your visit!
ETA: For a winery that's awesome and close by, try Flat Creek Estate. It's a pretty drive out there. The only drawback is it's a bit isolated from the rest of the other wineries.

I've actually heard that Gus's Fried Chicken (downtown Austin) is better than both of those.
You can go to Lucy's in Austin itself. I'm not sure about his lake comment.

I am a big fan of Lucy's in general though. I go there often. I didn't know there was one on the lake now. The ones I knew about were the small original one on South Congress and the bigger one (the one I frequent) on Burnet.

Drive to College Station (about 2 hrs away) and go to Santa's Wonderland. It's like a He-Haw Christmas in the Oaks. They have a driving trail (although some nights you can't drive it, you have to do a hayride) and they have a little village. The village has a band playing, food, and a massive bonfire where you can roast marshmellows and hot dogs. Find the place serving the chicken spaghetti. It's amazing.
Bonus, on the way in, you can drive by A&M, walk all over their grass, and wave an LSU flag in front of Kyle Field. If any of them give you crap, just tell them you will stop once A&M can beat us in football.

You could go by yourself (or with a friend) and just order everything to-go and bring it back home. That's what I would do if you are set on getting it. Or just get in line early and have her meet you there later. Nobody should care if she cuts, since you'll be ordering for both of you anyway.

I'll be at Whip In Saturday evening after christmas and Jester King Sunday.....so stay away from there. Will hit Easy Tiger and Bangers at some point. Also will hit Liberty bar for some East Side King grub. I'm not sure what people who don't drink do in Austin.

I second Mozarts, just bring a jacket. I'll be there during the same time frame at my in laws in Round Rock and we will make at least one stop at Mozarts. Trail of Lights is another thing we are hoping to make. If you are in Georgetown, you could always do Inner Space Caverns, though it would be better on a hot day when the coolness of the cavern can be enjoyed. The Whole Foods HQ is down town and fun to browse and eat. Mt Bonnell and The Oasis are tourist spots, but fun to do, just wouldn't recommend doing them frequently. Also as someone else said Santas Wonderland in Navasota (by College Station) is fun, but would be a trek for you. The Nutty Brown Cafe out in Dripping Springs is another fun music spot if they have any decent acts. It's a short drive but a good time. Id recommend Kerby Lane too if you want some bomb pancakes or Queso haha I know it's a weird combo, but when I go I get the Kerby Queso as an appetizer and the pancakes to eat. They also have an indoor sky diving place, The Arboretum, The Domain, Top Golf, and an Alamo Draft House movie theater off 183 and Mopac going north/northwest toward Cedar Park.

Midnight Cowboy is a swanky little spot hidden on 6th. It's supposedly named after the brothel that used to exist on its site.
