Head out to the LBJ Ranch near Fredericksburg. You can drive through the ranch in your own car now. Those are some big-arse hereford cattle. You can now go in the house since Lady Bird died.

Then head north of Fredericksburg to Enchanted Rock. It's the largest pink granite monadnock in the United States.

Then drive the Willow City Loop

Come back through Llano and Burnet into Cedar Park and Austin.

Just too many people and too much traffic to efficiently navigate Austin any longer. Go to the Texas State Cemetery and see where people like Chris Kyle and Tom Landry are buried.

You could even skip all of that and head to San Antonio. Lots to do there. Only 80 miles southwest.

I'm considering doing this tour of Deep Eddy's distillery. Sounds like a good deal at $25 per person.

Anyone have experience with this or heard stories?

Yeah it's cool. Jester King is the best brewery/distillery in town though. I think they have like 5 beers that are 95 or up on Beer Advocate.

I don't doubt that.

I would love to check it out. But like I said, my wife isn't really a beer drinker at all.

I really like Jester King, but their beers aren't for everybody. They definitely have the GOAT labels though. It is a great place to go hang out on a beautiful day. And Stanley's Farmhouse Pizza is awesome as well.

Hops and Grain is still my favorite brewery in town.

Sorry, I've never done a distillery tour here. I'm sure it's a good time.

Titos is a bigger name and is another option.

Tito's FAQ on their website says they do not give tours.
