Pretty sure the bird eater spiders are from South America. Also pretty harmless.

Tree roaches as we call them down in south LA. Other folks call them Palmetto Bugs. Those frickers I might shove my own Maw Maw down over.

that spider is cool. If I could have safely rescued it or guided it to dry ground, I would have.

Seems like the majority of this thread would have either let it drown, aided it in drowning, or outright killed it.
