If done right travel baseball is very beneficial to a child's development of their skills.Baseball is a game that you get better with repetition. While on the subject of youth sports the person who brought soccer to this country should have been beaten with a baseball bat. It serves no purpose except to keep the kids in shape for baseball. It is the sport of the ADHD generation and has gotten in the way of my baseball practices multiple times.

My son is a PO (pitcher Only) for his High School team. Left Handed nasty curve ball. Avg player. Travel ball coaches always asked him to play. 1st because he is a PO and left handed. 2nd he doesnt haft to play a position and helps coach not to need to insert in lineuo. But we have a rule. 3 or 4 tournaments a year is all he throws. Its always worked out for us. He doesnt over do it. He plays football and that's all he has time for. By the time he starts high school season and starts 10 games during season that's plenty. Dont need to over do it. Never had any arm injuries. He gobbles up alot of inn. Kids need a break.

Don’t feel sorry for the kid on IR. Feel sorry for the mom. She won’t be able to show her face on Wine Wednesday...

The drama/cheating with soccer clubs in DFW is a cancer.

It is not cheating in the game, as much as it cheating on the rosters and playing good teams in lower divisions to win against lesser competition.

There are a few teams here in DFW that have been kicked out of leagues/tournaments by playing kids to old for the division they are in.

There are also clubs like FC Dallas/Garland ones that play their better teams in a lower skill division to win that division. They want to win every division for marketing purposes, even though they have a team with advanced skill going against lesser competition.

Then the parent drama is a whole different level.
-----------------------------------
When it comes to travel ball in baseball and softball, there is really no travel. There are plenty of local teams, however the game volume is out of control for elementary level kids. Not to mention practices of 1.5 to 2 hours 2-3 times a week.

I love my kids playing sports, but dang parents ruin the game. We are in the drama filled ones as well

Baseball
Softball
Soccer x 2
Basketball

Have not even got into basketball drama with parents yelling curse words at each other for an elementary game.

My son may be pushing the rules soon, by playing with two clubs...but it’s still in age and at the highest level of competition.

Big tournament this weekend, hope my boy has fun out there.

There are people at my church whose kids seem to be playing baseball literally every weekend. Makes me wonder how they have time to make it to church.

You’re thinking about other people’s young boys while sitting in church?

Idiot parents think that telling the coach their kid is taking a few months off will mean they lose their spot on the team and never have a chance at a scholarship. This is a parenting problem. Suckers.
