AT&T early 90's commercials showing us all what would occur

Germans or not, I remember seeing these commercials and thinking the future was likely to occur after I was long gone. They knew what they were doing. It's funny because you see all of the devices we now know well...
The future as predicted bt AT&T advertising
Thought it would be an interesting share.

Damn that is scary good but frick that dumbass kid at the end who uses future telecommunication technology to interrupt a lecture to ask "Where did jazz come from?" And then the professor patronizes him by saying "good question." That's a stupid fricking question. Everyone knows where jazz comes from.
Obviously Salt Lake City. They named a basketball team after it and everything.

Grainy, but that black doctor in the third commercial has to have been in some movies since then. Looks familiar

quote:, yeah...AT&T was far less concerned with their "actors" than their product.
Jamohn
I was thinking he might very well be the artist formally known as "Benson", Headchange,...the professor. The doctor...hmmm....will rewatch.
*can't call that face.

I remember seeing that video pay phone and thinking how huge and awesome it would be. Now it’s on my cellphone and it’s no big deal.

"You will...and the company that will bring it to you won't be AT&T."
I actually remember these commercials

Must be the father of the "What's a computer?" kid.

The mom who "tucks her baby in from a phone booth" looks like Dharma from Dharma & Greg

Is the woman in the phone booth Jenna Elfman?

That or a young Rosamund Pike.

Curious as to what tech companies are predicting they can do in 25 years from now.
Posted on 7/12/18 at 7:04 pm to PiscesTiger
Those predictions aren't that impressive, especially for 1993.
The commercials are well done, though. I didn't know Jenna Elfman had a baby back then.

I actually remembered it once it got to the end with the “you will” damn it’s been 25 years.

Kinda reminds me of Michael Scott’s homemade Dundee Mifflin commercial.
