Not there yet. I have allowed her to stay at neighbors house and play with their kid.
Of course I bring back for her friend a treat as well.

By the age of 6, Mom left for work earlier than the school bus picked me up. Home alone for half an hour or so. I’m still here. That was pre-whateverthefrickthisperiodoftime is.

My son is an only child. He’s very mature for his age. We’ve left him home for quick errands since he was 7. He has an iPad (my old one) that can connect to WiFi and he can call or message us if necessary. He’s about to be 9.
My wife left our 7 yo daughter home by herself this past Saturday for 10 mins. so she could go down to DG and grab some cat litter. It's literally a mile down the road. She told her to leave the door locked and stay in your room till I get home. And she did.
She is very mature for her age.

Friend of mine has a brother who married an Eastern European girl. They have an infant, definitely younger than 6 months. She leaves the kid alone all the time to do whatever. Told the MIL the kid can’t move so it shouldnt go anywhere.
Don't get me wrong, I never did that. But honestly...I have twins so when they were 6 ish months old, going places was quite the hassle. And I always thought, especially if it happened to be a quick 15-30 minute trip, I always figured they would actually be safer staying in their cribs than they are in a car driving on the road. Like I said, I never actually left them but I always thought it was funny that I'd probably lose my kids if someone found out and reported me but statistically they probably are safer staying at home for a quick trip somewhere and back.
