NOAA climate assessment for February 2018
I’m having a hard time believing we’re breaking warming records already this year. What say you?

Using mean is the most basic and most inappropriate way to establish trends in temperature in small sample sizes like this.
Eta-
100 years is a small sample size in climate study.
The SE US is a small sample size of geography.
So we take data from small time sample of small geographic area and put it in a slide to alarm people... to what end one must ask...

It’s been a really weird late winter/early spring. Probably the Russians hacking the weather to influence our elections.

My electric bill was abnormally low for February, meaning I didn’t run the AC.

Lol what a load of bullshite
It was way warmer in the late winter/early spring last year. We didn’t even really have a winter down south last year.

Same here. Guess I didn’t run the heat either.

February had multiple record highs here in South Georgia

Just for a laugh and reinforce this idea that these people are full of shite.
They think we had an average winter last December

Much-above-average temperatures were observed in the Southwest, with above-average conditions stretching into the Rockies and Central Plains. Parts of the Southeast were also warmer than average.

Just like a seasoned salesman has a rebuttal for any objection, so do today’s pseudo science pimps.
No matter what the data points say from this moment forward, they have a spin ready to push man-made climate change.
I manipulate the same type of statistics at work on a daily basis.
You don’t have to fool everyone, you just have to fool enough to swing a few percentage points in a few key voting precincts in a few key demographics.

We had a nice warm spell right after Mardi Gras so it's technically accurate, but misleading - we also had a very cold winter overall.

NOAA is not to be taken seriously. They predicted above average winter temps for the South and no winter precipitation. It snowed 3 times this year and several record lows were broken.

Farmers Almanac nailed it. Cold, wet winter for the Southeast.

I don’t care about their predictions, this is after the fact reports. They said we had an average December in Southeast Louisiana, which I call bullshite on. There is no way last December was average for Southeast Louisiana. But this is the information that is referenced as fact for climate change debates.
