my dad wants to switch from his flip phone to a more modern touch screen phone so i am asking for your help.

his criteria are:

- prepaid cell phone (tracphone or straight talk)
- $100 price range +/- $25
- 5.5" screen or better
- battery life of 20hrs or more
- wifi
- GPS
- bluetooth
- 16gb storage capacity
- a really good high MP camera so pictures he might transfer to his computer look clear and sharp.

and it must easy to use/see for old people obviously

what phones like that do you suggest he look at?

he was looking at the LG Fiesta 2 for $99 he saw at walmart but wanted to know if there were more that might be better.

thank you for your help

A Microsoft Lumia would probably be good for him. Seems to meet a few of the criteria you outlined. The lower end ones are in that price range. I have the 635 and I think I payed $74 for it.

Spend an extra 30 bucks and get the Moto e4. The worst thing you could ever do is get a cheap LG or Samsung phone. Samsung and LG have heavily skinned versions of Android and with lower end specs of a budget phone they will perform horribly after a month or so.

The Moto e4 is very close to stock Android and is very little lightly skinned and is the best Android hands down under 150.00

It meets the basic minimum specs you require and will perform like a much more expensive device for a much longer period of time. If you must get a budget phone get as close to stock Android as possible.

Cricket wireless with 10 gigs a month data is $45, unlimited is $55.

Either go with a native Android experience (Pixel) or go with iPhone.

The Android has Wi-Fi.
GPS is an application, an ap.
Android has free apps that do GPS.. Get the store you buy it from to load what you need.
Try to hold your new phone instead of store people. It will take 5 times as long but you will learn how to do whatever. Then you teach your dad.

The camera is an interesting requirement. That's why someone went to moto in previous post.
The android 9 is supposed to have a camera worth talking about.
He needs to go into store with you when you have it down to 2 or 3 phones. Use store sample to take pics. Only way you don't f this up. His cost preference is likely to damn his camera to 3rd rate.
I am presently ringed by snow capped peaks. Lakes. Waterfowl. I use camera. Android. Got some shots Thursday that are going up on a website to sell prints.

Go to any cell phone store and tell them you want the cheapest "smart phone" they have. Even the ones that are dirt cheap are pretty decent. You aren't going to find a super spectacular camera on anything real cheap unless MAYBE if you get a used Galaxy or something.

he said he needs a good camera so if he gets in a wreck he can take pictures to send to insurance company so they need to be really good pictures

I have the LG Fiesta 2 and it is a great phone so far. The only negative is that it has limited storage, I think like 16 GBs. But everything else is great and the battery life is pretty good.

Get him a S8+ Large screen, great camera, and easy to use. We got my FIL on Android at 76 years old, and he's 82 now, and uses his well.

This I bought one end of last year even though I was leary of Motorola and it has been an excellent purchase. My girlfriend went to Verizon to get a new phone this month and they recommended the e4 to her.
