OK teacher shields kids from pit bull attack.

quote:

Five children were taken to a local hospital from the scene of the attack, most with either “superficial” or “escape” injuries, officials said, according to KFOR. None of the injuries were considered critical. Parents opted to take seven more children to hospitals out of precaution. The dog is still being held by Oklahoma City Animal Welfare, according to KFOR, and will be until at least Nov. 29. No owners have been identified.

Is there a worse breed of animal than the lowly pit bull owner?

I do think it needs to be mandatory for all vets to fix pits when they come in un-altered unless the owner is a cetified breeder.

Too many back yard inbred breedings have destroyed the breed.

This was the breed that was the national dog in WW1 and Petey from Lil Rascals. Have you ever seen Petey and thought thug POS?

The breed gets a bad name. I've never been bitten by a pit but I have been bitten by a Chihuahua. Most of it is related to how they are raised and not the breed itself. The fact that you are condoning someone taking a bat to one doesnt make you any better, maybe the slight ban should have been longer

The reason Chihuahuas are not a problem as a breed is that their bad dispositions are not paired with a size and musculature that can easily kill or mutilate someone. Pitts are huge and strong and they clearly have the disposition to use those talents as a means to kill people.
