I edited my post, just as he did his. See my edited post. I fully disagree with his assumptions. We do not know the motivation for this tragedy. It’s not fair to assume we do.

Bin Laden was in fricking Pakistan the entire time
he was a figment of George bush and dick Cheney’s imagination. The guy never existed in any capacity we were led to believe, the whole thing was a ruse.

We do have evidence of his body, oh wait, never mind they dumped him in the ocean lol and expect us to believe that bullshite.

I've given up trying to convince people that The Forever War is going to "break the sword." Sending our Army and USMC folks to the war zone for the majority of their 20 year career is going to eventually break the sword. It's breaking individuals. It has the potential to break our military system.

Nobody wants to hear it. Vets don't. Wash DC politicians don't want to hear it. The highest-ranking military officers don't want to hear it. So, I don't discuss it anymore. Nobody wants to hear it. Everybody wants to ignore the truth. If Biden wins, we'll be fighting The Forever War. If Trump wins, he will TRY to stop The Forever War, but, all of Wash DC and the Pentagon will resist him.

Pretty much sums up my thinking on all this as well.

Each veteran deals with their experience differently. Politicians have never really tried to understand the problem and make solutions. World war 2 you never came home till it was over. Vietnam one year hitch. Iraq and Afghanistan was on another level. Guys making 5,6,7 deployments is crazy. As a country these men and women should have the best medical... mental and physical care possible. Spend billions on bombs and bullets but don’t invest on the soldiers return.

I feel for his family and friends. My best friend committed suicide 12 years ago and it’s never left my mind. It just sucks!

There is simply NO EXCUSE for ever letting things get to this point with our veterans, and if there is one thing this country should without question fund to the max it’s our VA hospitals and treatment for those this country sends to war. They are without question the very best this country has to offer in courage and sacrifice, and yet the treatment they get in return is just plain revolting. This shite makes me SICK SICK SICK to my stomach. WTF does this say about us? Seriously....

I think it says people aren’t meant to be repeatedly placed in a situation where they need to kill or be killed. There’s no amount of VA funding that will cure shell shock.

Your on point. War is hell but turning that switch on and off over and over eventually it won’t turn off.
