Truth be told I needed the extra pushups. I was 6' tall 145 lbs when I went to basic. Pure string bean. I was 6' tall 180 lbs when I graduated. Pure muscle. They weren't lying when they said they would get you in the best shape of your life.
Made quite the difference in my social life, I'll tell you that.

Sure. And he was exhausted. This was at dawn and we'd been rucking since the night before. Mind is pretty much turned off at that point.

I think that's one of the objectives, brush off fatigue, a body check by a deer, and continue the mission

The evasion part was fun, Maine is a beautiful state. The resistance part is where they essentially beat the shite out of you or thats what you think. I got roughed up pretty good and didnt have a mark on my body, not even a scratch.
So they mind fricked you or they're just good at not leaving bruises?

yes
tie you up in weird contortions so the blood flows to your extremities, then untie you and the blood comes back, very painful, as an example

I went to school specifically to learn not to leave bruises.

Do they teach you ways to get through it or they just show you what you're in for?
