LINK
I know we discussed it a couple months ago. The Arlo is a pretty good system for most homeowners. This is $200 off the five camera system if you need that many cameras.
I saw the four camera system for $400 at Best Buy. Normally the 3 camera system is $500.

Well shite. I bought a 2 camera system from them in March for $375 I think.
I hear you. I paid $500 for a three camera system and then $150 for an add on camera later.

I just ordered it without even checking it out...(being OT RICH and shite).
I have the old Logitech system that they don't even make anymore. Is there a thread on this already or can someone share their experience with this system?
Thanks in advance and I will go ahead and downvote myself for the "OT RICH" comment.....

No thanks on changing batteries to 5 cameras every few months. Better order in bulk to save on those CR123 Lithium batteries because they are outrageously expensive to purchase at local retailers.

Are these motion activated?
Do they just send you a picture if triggered? Also can you check live on your phone?

Yes
They will start recording HD video when triggered.
And yes you can check live on your phone.

Do y'all put these cameras inside your house? For a rectangular house I'm not sure I need that many cameras but seems dumb to pay so much for 3. Anyone in Nola want to split?

I have one at front door, one on driveway, one in backyard and one at friendship entrance.
Theres a base station that runs things, so splitting would do no good.

Yea I'm not spending the time getting up 10' to change out the batteries on these things every couple weeks. And paying for all those batteries, no.

Anyone else have any comments on this system? Looks interesting.

It appears batteries can last anywhere from 3 to 6 months. I don't mind getting up on a ladder to change them out. It's work, it won't kill me.
Night detection appears to be a strong point on this system, plus no wires - no wires and no wires are needed (or power supply).

about to order this. How far away from the base can you install these cameras? Any monthly monitoring fees? Any fees at all?

What do you mean it's not available? They ship the first week of February.

Volume shipping for Kickstarter pledges and pre-orders is underway, we are clearing out our backlog as quickly as possible. North American orders placed now are currently estimated to ship the week of Feb 1. We estimate pre-order shipments for International customers will begin in March. As noted previously, your credit card will not be charged until your order is prepared for shipment.
