you're dumb. Are you part of the kickstart group? BTW, They're not rated for outdoor use either so that's a no go.
Just ordered the 4 camera system from Best Buy

No I'm not part of the kick starter group. I went to CES a couple weeks ago and thought they were pretty badass. I guess I'm dumb for spending half of what you are on a product that works perfectly for my needs.

on a device that doesn't even work outside. You're the one trying to compare the two.

You mean if I buy it and try to put it outside my door it won't turn on? How does it know? I don't need it for outside but I'm just curious how it senses it's outside?

You can preorder now through the end of the month. Preorders and kick starter people ship The week of Feb 1. So explain to me why I can't get it now.

i just purchased the Arlo system at Best Buy. I have the system now. What part of that do you not understand? And stop being a smartass. The system you linked is not approved for outdoor use. It says right there on the site you linked up that it is not for outdoor use.

Must've been the lightning fast trip to Best Buy. Didn't even wanna wait to get your questions answered and order it, you just said frick it I have to have this goddamn camera system right fricking now. I know I bumped a thread from a month and a half ago just to ask these specific questions but I don't really need the answers as bad as I need these cameras in my possession RIGHT frickING NOW!

I have the 4 camera Arlo system (from Best Buy). We use it to supplement the 4 wired cameras we have on each corner of our house. The Arlo system works well so far (since Xmas). We can move the cameras around at will, inside or outside, which we like. Range is good, but I've got very good cable internet, so that might make a difference. I have one camera on our horse stall (we are treating a sick horse), about 100 feet or so from my back door. We can view that stall clearly day or night. The only time I had a connection issue with that camera was during a heavy rain. Night vision is as good as our high dollar wired cameras. I believe that battery life will depend on how you set the motion detection sensitivity and how often you use live view to view a camera. Email notifications of activity are good, but would get annoying if your motion sensitivity is set too high. Unless you are out of town and want to get notified every time motion is detected. It was easy to set up. The iPad app works well. The only real downside will be replacing the batteries every 3 or so months (my guess based on current use), but I don't mount ours so high that access will be difficult. Another potential drawback is that the basic service only backs up your recordings for 7 days (I think). If you need to keep them longer than that, you have to pay a monthly fee. We have been content so far with the basic service. I hope this helps.

Do you have a suggestion for wired cameras that work this well? I'd like to look at the pros and cons of both. Will end up with 3 or 4 cameras for exterior use.
