Is it selfish of me that I would like to be buried there? Curious what the OT thinks. It would be a long distance from my family only reason I ask. Yes I know I'll be dead why care.

What qualifies you for Arlington?

Not if you served this country.

Seriously though I was awarded the silver star in April 2003,Purple Heart in 2006. Both would qualify me and I have friends there.

I'd definitely do it then. It's not like your family are going to be visiting your grave site very often even if you're down the street.

stealing valor, even in death!
ETA My bad. I didn't know you were a serviceman. There was no information included in the OP to indicate that.

One of my buddies was killed in April of 03 and to this day his dad visits his grave at least once a week. I do think it is different though because he was killed in Iraq and more traumatizing to the family

Thanks for your service, and I would think the bonds you made with your fellow servicemen would not make it unusual to want to be buried alongside them. However, after you build a family of your own, you might change your mind.

You may be right my family is just starting out and it may very well change as I get older.

Arlington was Lee's home, he had like half dozen children born in that House
