Your last name is Bobby Helms? That's an odd last name. You are from Ar-Kansas though so I guess that kinda thing is not to uncommon in those parts.

It is really hard to imagine how many cousins and such that you have that you have never met. Especially when so many of the families from the 1800s and early 1900s had 8-12 children.

My great great aunt wrote Gone With the Wind, if that counts. She doesn't come to family parties though.

Somebody who knows how the "cousin chain" works. Most folks would have said that Reba is their eighth cousin, or something like that.

My 3rd cousin is Jimmy Bryant he was a famous guitar player from the 50's-70's. He was known as the fastest guitar picker in the world at one time. He played with the Monkeys and had several solo albums with Speedy West!
He also was also awarded a life time award by the academy of country music!

My cousin is a big TV personality overseas, on a major network and the big daily morning show. Big enough to have to wear sunglasses and a cap to go shopping. Gets great reservations at all the restaurants, etc.

It's fun going back to visit.

I am as direct as you can really get as a descendant of Jim Bowie.

a-hole hasn't shown up to one family christmas yet.

My first cousin has a book on the NYT best seller list right now. I won't say who it is because we share a name, but that person isn't a household name or famous (yet).
