Yes, but I'd bet dollars to donuts my organs aren't worth a damn. They'd go right in the disposal

It's in my driver's license that an an organ donor. At least that's one way you can do it in AL. That's why I had to tell my SO and next of kin about the eyes.

In most states, including LA, joining the registry is not the same thing as consenting to donation. Many families are blindsided by the statement, "they were in the registry, we think this was their wish." Just make them aware of your wishes, because the registry is very rarely sufficient for consent.

Didn't know that. But I have discussed it with them since my Mom's a nurse the topic came up years ago.

Thanks.

Yes. My pieces parts are slowly wearing out, but if someone could use them, have at it. Maybe I could buy somebody some time until a younger donor was found.

Hopefully by the time they are finished with me, they will be able to fit me in a shoebox. Don't forget to donate blood while you're here too. I've done so much negative stuff in my life, I hope this will even out the scales on judgment day. Let the last thing I do on this earth be a positive thing.

I used to give blood all the time until I started working from home.

Which if they only knew...whew.

they would be incinerating that blood as soon as I got my juice and cookie.

Yes i am.....parents also need to discuss the possibility of their children being donors in the event of a trajedy...may be morbid to think about, but needs to be decided beforehand, when emotions aren't running out of control.

You know they don't remove your eyeballs right?

It's just a very thin coating/lens that they remove
