People also assume you have to top off every time you charge. For instance, if we were at lunch and charging we would just go a bit above what we needed to get to the hotel.
I'm sure there may be routes where it's not feasible, but every trip I've made you can do the entire trip between 20% and 80%, which means a max of 15 minute charge times at each stop.

You are putting a lot of faith in politicians. That is something I would not do.

How much of our electrical infrastructure is owned by the government?

Thanks for letting me know that climate change is not a serious concern.

If climate change was actually a serious crisis we would be using mandates not targets.
Perfect example here of the brainwashing of the right.

If climate change is a serious concern, the Democrats would be laying down impossible and heavy-handed mandates. Since they are not doing that, climate change must be BS so why even worry about it?

Taking reasonable action means you lack conviction. Is that right?

People don't want to hear that you aren't going to die of old age charging these days

I don't know if this is common knowledge now, but I figured out why the anti-EV folks think EVs catch fire all the time.

First of course is the fact that certain news outlets make every EV fire national news, but also some like to cite a study/statistics that supposedly prove that they catch fire a lot. The statistics actually show that ICE vehicles are ~50 times more likely to catch fire than an EV (1,500 per 100k for ICE and 25 per 100k for EVs), but that hybrids are more likely than either to catch fire (3,500 per 100k). Turns out mixing fuel with high voltage is a bad idea, whodathunk?

Anyway, folks with an agenda lump the hybrid fire data in with EVs (because they are both the "enemy", you see, disregard that the hybrid data could as easily be lumped with the ICE or, you know, presented as its own category) to skew the numbers. Lies, damned lies, and statistics.

Makes sense. Your patience for digging into and explains this to people is admirable. I don’t have it in me.

Oh no, I have very little patience. What I do have is an appetite for entertainment and these threads always give me my fill.

Not healthy to sit close to a battery of that size. Rape the land to make a battery of that size. Expensive to replace a battery of that size. Not enough resources on earth to get everyone who wants a vehicle a battery of that size. Need oil to charge said battery. Delays longer trips. Too expensive for those with lower incomes. I’m not seeing the benefit yet…. Anyone??

Many of them are.

Some I suspect just like EV’s and they work with their driving habits.

For people that like to go fast quickly, you can’t beat an EV.

But yea, most are brain washed.

False.

Everything we do rapes the land. Or do you think it's better to take what's underground and put it in the atmosphere than to visibly change the topsoil? Out of sight, out of mind?

Battery replacement plus electricity costs are cheaper than buying gas over the lifetime of the vehicle.

True, by roughly 10%. You got one.

As are all new-ish technologies.

Have you read the thread? Many testimonials in here.

How are EV’s in the winter in places that experience real cold weather for long periods?

I sincerely don’t know. You seem like you’ve done a lot of research.

More than a few videos on youtube about this. I believe there is a guy in Norway who tests them out for his channel
