I don’t really see them anymore. Hot Topic has turned into an anime store basically so maybe they just don’t have anywhere to buy from?

Teenagers wearing black, feeling isolated will never go out of style. They will just call it something else.

When I was in high school, I used to think the goth movement was weird, but now there’s group trends out there with people fricking in animal costumes and grown arse men watching pony cartoons.

I feel they modernized. I saw one today that had all the markings of a goth person minus the black and face paint

I had a kid in one of my classes that was a “brony.” That in a high school environment didn’t go well. Had to get on a few of his peers for messing with him even though I felt like I understood where they were coming from tbh. Kid was out there.

seems like all women wear the hideous black nail polish now

prefer more feminine colors myself, know a bartender that has had different nice pastel shaded manicures the couple of times I have been in, really stands out

Truthfully, I feel this may be true. “Outsider” kids will always cling to something and this is the current “against society” group.

It's still quite popular around the world. England's goth scene has always been thriving and continues thriving to this day. In the US, the scene is still strong however, like many other places, it has crossed over to include steampunk and Victorian fashion. Goth is becoming a big thing in Africa right now. Goth is very strong worldwide at the moment. Places such as Iran, Israel, France, Russia, Brazil and Cuba have goth cultures. Canada's goth scene is exploding.

About 10%-20% of the clothing and accessories we sell are Gothic, Victorian and steampunk. We ship worldwide. Because the Gothic scene is growing, we're actually moving away from some of the vintage style clothing we sell and growing the Gothic lines.

I saw a girl I used to go to HS with that was a goth back then, but not anymore. She ended up being fine AF.
