Bachelors are basically useless unless it's in engineering, nursing, and a few other exceptions.

Associates degrees must be completely useless relics at this point.

Man, I'd think so. A two year degree really isn't worth that much .

Really? Name 5 bachelors degrees besides engineering and nursing where you can basically graduate and have your pick of whichever job you want?

well if you want the ultimate, you've gotta be willing to pay the ultimate price. it's not tragic to die doing what you love

According to the BLS an associate's degree will earn an average of $785 vs. $652 a week for those with a HS diploma.

Bachelor's degree is still a huge premium over a high school diploma, so you're kind of understating their importance.

I'd throw accounting in there as well, if you have 150 hrs and can get CPA

Other than that yes, 2 year degrees are obsolete as are most bachelors

There are plenty of plant operators in south Louisiana that got their six figure jobs by getting a two year Process Technology degree.

Not if it is in nursing.

You can still find a nursing job with an associates degree. They may require you to get your bachelor's at some point though.

Someone sounds like they're arrogant. The simple answer is its worth whatever you make of it the same as any other degree.

So, getting a job straight out of undergrad is the only way a degree is "useful"?

real ballers and the people who run things in this country have liberal arts degrees.

That's a fact. My third year out of BRCC I hit $100k+. Great benefits, too.

my guidance counselor in college actually told me that it is basically just a milestone along the way to getting your bachelor's. I don't think it will get you anything near what a bachelors will get, but I have to think an associate's is worth something versus a high school diploma.

I will never discourage anyone from getting education, no matter what it involves.

You can't do that with any degree. What fantasy world do you live in?
