Ive got a pretty high dollar one in the living room and another in my daughters room. When i turn them on full blast (what i think its enough circulation), they sound like jet engines at full throttle

Remove the carpet. Your central air filter would do better than an air purifier but even that wouldn't be enough.

Eat some local honey a couple times a week.

I had the same added when I replaced my A/C system. I concur, it's the best money I could have spent. My house stays relatively dust free and the lowered humidity make the interior so much more comfortable.
If your HVAC guy has never dealt with a system like that, find a new HVAC guy.

80% hardwood in our house, we have maids and I actually vacuum the rugs a good bit between maid visits (twice a month).
Our house is spotless
Still sneezing!
I'll live. I was mainly asking because I saw a few on Prime Day and thought I'd give it a shot in my kid's room to see if it helps, but he's got 4 vents in his room pumping in the central air, so if that's dirty, it's a pointless battle.

This helps during pollen season for sure. I actually stir some in an IPA and I promise it works better (temporarily) than most meds.
I'm talking more year-round mild allergy annoyance. I think it's dust and possibly some mold in the ducts.
The 2 weeks in Spring with pollen I'm essentially incapable of functioning because I'm either having sneezing fits or on so much medication

If you use well made candles with cotton wicks (and keep the wicks trimmed properly) this is not a real world issue
Look no IAQ training out there approves using candles for air purification. Hopefully you were joking because it's horrible advice.

I guarantee you have items built with your house that has formaldehyde in them. That contributes to poor indoor air quality. You can buy some flex ductwork without formaldehyde in it. If sneezing and allergies are your issue.
1) Make sure your ductwork is sealed include the return pans and the supply boots.
2) If cost is an issue get a High Nerve rating 5" filter that is changed every 6 months. "Merve rating" is based on how well the filter removes particles ( which is what's causing you issues). The higher the rating the smaller particles it removes. A true HEPA FILTER is the highest rating. Remember " HEPA Like" is not a true HEPA.
3) Check window and doors to make sure outside particles are not coming in.
4) Do Not open windows to let fresh air circulate. You are polluting you house.
Another product that kills mold, Covid, flu virus that is installed in your central hvac supply is called a Air Scrubber. It uses space station technology but you may want one that doesn't create ozone. Ozone removes smells but can cause issues with sinus and migraines. Women react more often and stronger issues with ozone.

Why not just try some better filters for your central ac units?…

Testing has shown this to be worthless, but if favor homeopathic BS and it makes you feel better, be my guest. Then rub an amethyst on your chest to create positive energy.
