If you saw the teeth I see on a regular basis you wouldn't have started this thread. Oral hygiene as a whole in this country is awful even in middle to upper middle class areas.

It depends. Before I drank coffee 2-3 times a day, I went once a year and the cleanings were never long.

But ever since then my teeth stain and I definitely build up more.

It's nice, my gf cleans it twice a year so I don't have to bother anyway haha

I go once a year and never had a cavity. They always tell me how nice my teeth are too. I get it being more needed when electric tooth brushes, etc weren't around but paying $277 for X-rays and a cleaning today made me reconsider.

My insurance doesn't suck so it doesn't cost me anything extra. Two cleanings and one set of X-rays a year.

I haven't been in several years too. I use to see my dentist in social settings every now and again and he would always say don't be a stranger come on by for a cleaning. I would always think so myself nah I'm good I don't need you stabbing my gums.

Judging by the number of teeth I pull and implants I place every day, I would say more people should be going to the dentist more often.

The biggest scam are those full x-rays dentists take when you go to them for the first time. One time I moved three times within the span of a year for work, and every new dentist wanted a full x-ray. Are they incapable of transferring dental records from clinic to clinic like every other health care field?

I don't smoke or drink coffee either. The breakdown of the bill was as follows:

Comprehensive oral evaluation: $98

Bitewing four image: $75

Prophylaxis-Adult: $104

So after 7 years I decided I need to go to the dentist. So I purchased a groupon today for $60 dentist appt which includes dental exam, x-rays, and dental cleaning. Original cost was $360. The dentists name is Eric Day. Anyone know if he is worth a shite? He’s off of Wrenwood.

I would say that it is really dependent on how prone to cavities your teeth are. Dentists generally won't tell you to come once per year, but I think it is fine to go annually if you don't generally get cavities.
