On a related model kit note, I just stumbled across this guy on YT who restores old rusted & weathered models.

I thought it was pretty cool:

Those are fun kits. I’ve built both.

Not sure if this would interest you or not but this mini house built from scratch during quarantine is kinda going viral. Lots of pics in the twitter link.

Darth, that is FANTASTIC work. Years ago I dabbled in military aircraft, but nothing like what you have here. My two boys' bedrooms had all kinds of model airplanes hanging from their ceilings when they were little. Great work and thanks for sharing.

No disrespect, but did you mean "Tirpitz" instead?

Usually I’ll paint the center hub then the tire itself, taking care around the rim of the hub.

Cool Model. I always wanted to build them. Built a few as kid.

My dads best friend was an aircraft mechanic for a company that flew sea-planes out of Houma. We would go check them out pretty often. My dad would help him sometimes riveting pontoons. There were a lot of sea planes flying around Houma in the 80s. They would land and take off from the Intracoastal Canal. Never got to go up in one, I was to chicken shite.

Tamiya 1/72 P51, fresh off the table.

Everyone loves weathered cockpits.

Invasion stripes? Oh hell yea.

Excellent work! I’ve got an Airfix 1/72 scale Mustang on my stash to build. Right now I’ve got a Marder I on my desk I started just yesterday.

Damn 1/72 plastic warbirds test my patience. Thank God for Tamiya smooth plastic and paints.

I trip out about every little mistake I make.

Then I realize how small it is and thus, am I.

Humbling.

I tend to stick with 1/48 scale in fighters and 1/72 scale on multi-engine bombers. The main reason I do this is once you get into the larger scale bombers they get so big I don’t have shelf room for them.

I build them, my three nephews destroy them.

One nephew is finally catching on that I won’t give him another one until he destroys the one he has.

He keeps my cases roomy. I’m grateful for that.

Thanks folks! The floats dealt me fits and at one point I wasn’t sure I’d be able to get them set properly.

We knew you could do it!

Post it here when it’s done. I’d love to see it.
