Every neighborhood bar is hiring. If you want to fill that position, you need to cater to potential employees, and that doesn't stop once you hire them. You need to take care of them.

I agree... but also.. It's simple to me...

Waitress position - Apply in person... No resume sent via email required.

I wonder if you asked ever waitress in america, how many would say that they were hired because they added a resume to an email without ever setting foot in the bar... I wonder what the % of Waitress' in AMerica would say that it happened that way.

Some of the hoops to jump through are silly. Creating an online profile, taking personality tests & experience questionnaires, etc.

Exactly... Especially for making Sammichs at Subway at the Loves off I35 and SE59th.

If so many waitresses didn't do that, then just have your GF go to those places where you don't need to do that. If there are so many, it shouldn't be that hard to find the places that she can apply in person.

Has a lot of pros for the hiring company (other than missing out on potential candidates that don't want to deal with recording a video) but no real benefit for the interviewee, in my opinion

I like the screening questions. If I'm on indeed and I apply for a job that has screening questions, I feel like I have a better shot at an interview. The 1 way video interviews are stupid though. I'm not spending 20-30 minutes on a video interview when my resume will probably just get tossed by ATS or HR.

Maybe that's the reason we have such a homeless problem too.. They don't have computer and phones to fill out Job application forms...

Heh, it may be a factor, but I can promise you a good percentage of the homeless population is employed.

I can fill out 20+ online applications and have responses in the same amount of time it takes to get out and apply in person for 1 job. And 9 times out of 10, when you do go apply in person, they will hand you a business card with their careers portal URL on it and tell you to apply there.

Is all you user names and passwords the same for every single account?

I have several password combos. All of them are random off the wall phrases with no real meaning. In the event that I forget one or get accounts confused There is usually a “forgot password” button with some sort of two factor authentication to reset the password.

Yes, because you already admitted the places want you to apply online. If you're talking about mom and pop small places that may not even have a website or can't take applications online, sure. But that's not what you're talking about, you're talking about the exact opposite.

I am talking about two things that you missed.

1. Yes.. MOM and POP locations want you to apply in person.. ANd thats what I put in the job add... SInce we don;t have a website we ask you apply in person. They simply respond to the Craigslist add by repling by e-mail... We don;t have an office girl or myself the time to sit and print aan review all that for a waitress job. I have a manager waiting to talk to you right now.

I also need a lawnmower for my RV Park at the lake. I will hire the first kid that shows up and can ride a mower and operate weedwhacker... Do you think that I care about this kids Resume? Just show up and HIRED.. That simple.

The instruction was apply in person.. They just clicked on a button.. talk about lazy. and not following instructions.

Second I am trying to run 3 family owned small enterprzes. and they are in different location in the state... I don;t have time... SO if my GF wants a job making sammichs at Subway. Why does she have to opreate an online profile? Create an account? How about she just walks in and fills out an app and speaks to a manager. Or does making subway sammichs require a college education and resume too?

all this is my point that Tech has made stuff way too complicated and people have gotten so lazy that they won;t even walk into a place and apply any more.

Just sit on the couch with their phone and say: I been job hunting but can;t find nuttin.

Not everything has some complex answer.

Do you not see the irony in you wanting everyone to follow your rules for your company because they're your roles then complaining about having to follow other rules for other companies?

Or it's made it much easier because I can be infinitely more efficient and go online and apply to 20 positions in the time it would take you to shower, shave, get dressed, and go to 1 or 2 places and apply in person.

So you are relying on Tech to keep up with your accounts then I see.

REmember the joke about a guy filling out a password.. Must have a Cap and figure and a sign etc.

I have too many accounts as it is... Sammich makers at subway only need user profiles after hiring. Not before... This limits a manager if she cannot hire on the spot and has to wait for a person to properly create an account just to apply. Most times that person does not come back a second time for a simple job with this high of a turnover rate or they don't even create the account and finish the app.
