It's the particular edition of the OS that Apple says they won't do it for. Those 70 were all a different version, I bet.
But I agree, Apple can do this, but I don't agree that they should unless the Feds can show other evidence that would cause a reasonable person to believe that he used that phone to communicate with other terrorists and that gaining access to the information inside is crucial to unraveling a pending attack.
The FBI pricks are pissed because they are so used to throwing around the "national security" and "defeat the terrorists" lines and having people bend right over for them that when someone calls bullshite, they throw a tantrum like a two year old.
They got a magistrate to issue the order. If they've got real evidence and a real public safety need to get this done, then they need to go to a real-deal court and make a case, like they are supposed to do.
In the mean time, people should avoid computing with fruit. That's a general rule, not one based upon the specifics of this case.

I love how this issue brings out posters out the woodwork who have no idea what they are talking about but know just enough buzzwords or basic knowledge to try to pass themselves as way more intelligent as they are.
