About 2-3 years ago he brought a film crew to Covington shooting a reality-tv coming home project. I played the local history guy and was the foil (standing up for the Primate Center). I don't think the project ever materialized.
Christmas 2019 I'm overseeing the loading of 1,500 turkey dinner boxes in the St. Paul's cafeteria to be delivered on Christmas morning. Working quietly, unbeknownst to anyone in the room of a hundred people, was Theo. We visited for a bit, then he went back to packing boxes.
He'd like to come back for a stand-up show in his hometown. Maybe one day.

Share mutual friends and he also used to be my neighbor. Hung out with him a few times. Cool guy and hilarious.

That's literally his entire schtick....none of it is really true. He uses a very unique, improvisational technique where he just takes a story to some really outlandish places but is so damn convincing when he does it that you almost want to believe him but have to remind yourself that that's the bit.
I thought he was just a mediocre comic. After listening to several of his podcast appearances where he just shoots these stories off the cuff, I learned to find him absolutely hilarious and incredibly unique as a standup.
ETA: His podcast talking about his father came across my YouTube feed last night (his dad was 70yo when he was born). It's not funny, at all, but he lays it all out there like you rarely hear. You can tell dude has been to some dark places in his life and it's really interesting to hear how he's come to reconcile with his youth. Highly recommend.

Theo is hilarious. Don’t understand the hate he’s getting here. He seems about as genuinely good of a guy as you can find in entertainment these days.
1) Jealousy
2) hate from those who never met him
3) The internet is a shitty place

Met him once. Nice enough guy. Not particularly funny

His Netflix special is funny. I didn’t like him th first time he was on Rogan, but I’ve learned to appreciate his humor, eat an edible and watch his standup and laugh

I find him to be one of the funnier comedians out there right now. Most comedians seems like pretentious aholes but Theo comes off as genuine, even if all his stories aren't 100% true.
I agree. I like Theo.

know a guy who lived by him in Tiger Plaza shortly after the Road Rules episode. He said that Theo left his door unlocked a lot and people would walk in and swipe random things because they belonged to someone “famous.”
True story, I stole 3 empty kegs from his place.

My wife and I saw him at the old Holidome/Clarion Inn in Covington maybe 10 yrs ago. He did a show or 2 there. Was pretty good.

I know his brother Zefferino pretty well. Lives in BR and owns BIGGZ tree service. Great arborist and a hilarious dude.

Theo feels like he's on the cusp of greatness, but he can't quite get over the hump. I love his style and some of his jokes, but enough falls flat to prevent him from reaching some kind of upper tier.

I grew up in Covington with Theo. His stories are real but slightly embellished. But I hear the cocaine Darrell Strawberry story is dead on.
He shortened his name from Theo von Kurnatowski to just Theo Von when he started his comedy career. He is a genuine dude and his dad was really in his 70s when we were in HS back in the 90s.

Love Theo. When he's just riffing and talking out his arse he's easily one of the funniest people on the planet. His stand up is hit or miss

He talks about being from Covington but everyone who knows him says he’s from Mandeville.
He says Covington because where he grew up has a 70433 zip code.

Worked out at the REC with him a lot my freshman year in 99/00. My buddy and I always went around the same time and he ended up working in with us a lot. Super nice genuine dude who always went out of his way to say what’s up when he saw you out or at a party. Was also still cool after he came back from Road Rules and didn’t seem to be really changed by the fame while still at LSU.
