I assume it is going to be just like Bermuda was. Limited nightlife, surly locals, and small beaches. I know we have a private charter over to Jost Van Dyke one day. For anyone that has been, what are some must-dos?

I would spend the day or six at JVD. Specifically at the Soggy Dollar bar....with many painkillers....

Talking to a few locals, that seemed to be the norm. I think that is how their welfare system worked.

Magen's Bay - Great big beach

I'd also suggest taking the ferry to St. John's Cruz Bay. I'd spend the day snorkeling at Trunk Bay and bring a change of clothes and spend the evening at one of the bars in Cruz's bay with dinner at Woody's seafood saloon (Great burgers) and take the last ferry back to St. Thomas (11pm)

Went there back in 1998. We went snorkeling in Megan's Bay. Also took ferry to St. John and snorkeled in Trunk Bay.

Had a good time.

Didn't care for the shopping area.

Rent a jeep. Buy an ice chest. Hit several beaches per day. Take the ferry to St. John. Rent a dinghy, then hit the best beaches in the area without having to hike.

Damn, is St. Thomas that bad? It seems decent. The place that they picked out doesn't have very good reviews either.

Charlotte Amalie is a dump. Red Hook on the eastern side of the island isn't bad, but as far as the USVI goes it's St. John >>> St. Thomas >>>>>>>> St. Croix

St John. Rent a dinghy from my friends at Noah's Little Arks and tool around the island. Beach Bar is a required stop.

Soggy is fun on Jost and Corsairs is on the next bay over. Charter a boat for another day and visit The Baths on Virgin Gorda. Have lunch on Cooper Island and end the day at the William Thornton at Norman Island. Be forewarned the Willy T can get raunchy.

St Thomas is ok. It's just that St. John and the BVI are head and shoulders above St. Thomas and there are no cruise ship people.
