Anyone using those arm warmers to get rid of farmers tan?

I hate having the farmers tan and I've discovered a way to slowly rid myself of it. I found these arm warmer things that cyclists use. They are just sleeves that slide over your arms but aren't attached to a shirt or anything. Slide right on and off.
I'm going to start wearing them over the tanned part of my arm from just above the elbow down to the wrists when I'm outside shirtless once the weather warms up. Over time I expect to produce a near perfectly even tan.
Has anyone else tapped into this technology?

So when you're outside shirtless you're gonna wear sleeves on each arm up to the bicep?

This seems arse backwards. Shouldn't you either wear the sleeves (or maybe a long sleeve shirt) or put sun block on your arms to prevent the farm's tan. Then when you take your shirt off, you won't look ridiculous with those sleeves on? I must be missing something here.
