Yep, a swedish friend and I sat up one night at his sister's house outside of stockholm and ate surstromming and chased them with shots of aquavit. There are several different varieties of seasonings they pack them in and some are better than others but overall, they aren't that bad. We were pretty hungover the next morning so rode some bicycles 10 minutes down the road to the fjord and jumped in. Cured the hangover.
