It's a monthly subscription thing. You answer a bunch of questions and each month they send you a box tailored to your interests. It's right about $50 after tax and all.

They have some pretty cool stuff. They are a sponsor on demolition ranch so I figured with 20% it was worth a try.

They also have a regular store with some very good prices on stuff.

I needed a diary, a compass, a weirdly shaped knife, some uncomfortable boots, a candle, and some scented pomade so it worked perfectly for me.

ETA: also I’m a man who gives a damn

I haven't received my first box yet. For my first box I chose a carving set. The same set on Amazon right now is $79, so it's at least a good deal.

They also had two nice looking knives you could get this month.

yeah, I figure I'm just going to get a bunch of random stuff I would never actually buy on my own. I'll give it a few months and see if anything interesting comes along.

These sorts of curated boxes have been showing up across a lot of interests over the last couple of years, they all share one trait: 90% of people are unhappy with them after usually the second month. Almost universally the opinion is they could have just bought exactly what they wanted for less money and not got stuff they didn't.

When someone has to tell you you need something, you probably don't.

then....like...don't participate that month if it's something you don't want/need. You aren't required to participate every month.

I usually skip 2-4 months in a row and then something will come across that I'd like to have. And sometimes I'll see something on their I like but then find it cheaper elsewhere.

Really don't get the subscription box thing....If I need something, I find and buy it. I don't see the point in someone trying to figure out what I need every month....also the ads for this one are pretentious as frick

I thought about it for a watch subscription, but didn't make sense after I tracked it - plus who needs 6 watches a year. If they were the kind I could unload, then it would have been awesome, but the ones that got sent were probably solid watches, but nothing you could sell for 75% used.

For this one, yes. You can also switch to a different box or skip the month.

I drank some coffee from last month's box this morning.

You can opt out, ir you can change it, there are dozens of options. The items are not junk or cheaply made. Have gotten some really nice things.

I did it. Some months I’d opt out and not get the box. Ended up with a nice skinning knife and a really cool brush blade with a heavy spine you can use to split wool like lighter pine. Forgot to opt out one months and got a skillet and some pancake shite. The syrup was damn good.

Yep, I like it. Good variety of stuff. Usually offer 8-12 different boxes to change into as well. I’m probably 5-6 boxes in.
