Anyone take a job they probably weren't qualified for and how did it turn out?

Not qualified as in inexperienced or credentials-wise?

Accepted a job as a physics and AP Physics teacher right out of college but I wasn't certified in physics. All other sciences, but not physics. I bullshited my way through the year then found a better job.

Yes. I wasn't comfortable or knowledgeable enough to be there, but they needed me in that position. Took a little bit, but I figured it out

One of the times, I went in to be a salesman, and they decided to make me overhaul their entire inventory system, both online and brick and mortar. No idea wtf I was doing, but it worked out and then I quit

Was honest in interview process. But not experienced and don't have the degree they want. Got offered anyway. But I'm kinda nervous because it's a big leap. I know some people who started working there with not much experience in industry but their careers were further established.

Yes. I was educated, but not quiet in the exact scope I entered. It was bumpy at first, but once I got going I was fine.

I've bullshitted myself into a couple of jobs I had no business applying for with mixed results. It really puts a strain on you at first.

I'd say most jobs can be learned and accomplished as long as you have good people skills and are adept at problem solving

In answer to your question, yes. I was credentialled but seriously inexperienced. I took a shitload of lumps and learned. Accepted a new position and used the hard-earned experience to perform better.

It's going to suck for a while, but use the opportunity as a valuable learning experience. Learn and experiment every chance you can get. Expect to feel anxious, stupid, and like an imposter. Many people experience the same feelings. Be thankful and humble for the opportunity.

I took a leap once
It didn't work out in my case.
I lacked the dedication to perservere through the initial hump.
I don't regret that decision at all.
I gained some needed humility and leveraged that experience into better pay at my prior employment level.

Go for it.

Pretty much every job I've taken. Work your butt off, make wise choices while building relationships and credibility. You fake it until you make it.
