graduated in 1992 and still have the dream that it's late November and I suddenly realize I forgot to attend a class since late August. I panic and I can't remember which building it's in or which days and times it meets, and, I usually don't have any pants on
WHOA. Man, this is literally spot on for me- except my variation is that I haven’t attended the classes, missed 2 exams, haven’t turned in a project, and worst of all, missed the deadline to drop the class. I get these maybe 4-5 times a year. But, it’s weird in that I had recurring nightmares about the Bar exam for about 1 year after I took the Bar, but those have all stopped completely. The college dream has continued since 2003 for me and never stops.

Most of us know why its math.
I have actual recollections of math horrors in both high school and college.
My trig teacher heckled me when I just got a 31 on the act.
All the angst that is pent up to push such dreams as are here confessed in people decades after.
I'm just glad I didn't have to do the private school hell.

This. Mine are always math, every single time it’s math. Probably because that’s the class I skipped the most

I have these "dreams" too, but I guess I would consider then more like a nightmare. Happens a few times a year. I wake up in a panic sweating. I didn't think having this particular dream was rare, but I had no idea it was this common.

I’ll have dreams where I forgot I signed up for a class and never attended all semester. I always realize the mistake after drop date.

Yes, still.
Often it's a psych or soc class and I never took either so I can't even fill in the blanks.

Had this dream numerous times, wonder what it means? A stress dream?

This thread is very therapeutic for me.
I've had those recurring dreams, too. Often. Always freaked me out. So glad I'm normal.
The only time I actually fricked up in real life was in a sophomore elective English class. I overslept and got to the final exam half way through the test. The prof was super nice and allowed me to finish the exam. Don't know if that was the source of the dreams but they sure persist.

shite. Glad I'm not the only one. Yeah, those dreams suck. Huge relief when I wake up from them.

Mine will be me realizing I am failing one or more classes because I haven’t been showing up all semester and a test or big assignment is coming up. Very weird I didn’t skip class.
*So I made this post before reading the thread. Crazy that this dream is so widespread.

Yep, I dream that I show up for the exam and no one is there, like they switched the room or something during the time I hadn't been coming to class.
Also dream that I lost my schedule, and can't remember where my classrooms are, or that I missed registration deadline and didn't schedule my classes.

I have several annoying/disturbing recurring dreams.
For me, it the "missed deadline" dream tends to show up when I'm juggling a lot of different responsibilities at work and dealing with relentless communication issues between teams. Usually it involves me thinking that a project was due the week after it was supposed to be presented. When things are more calm at work, I rarely have this dream.
I also get one where I am waiting in line at a register in a large, soul-crushing warehouse/club type of store. My parents are next in line in front of me. Beyond them is a glass door leading to the exit where people are slowly filing through. I can see a lot of light through the door. For whatever reason I am afraid to go out that door and start to panic and tell my parents that everything is moving too fast. They just look at me, nod, and don't say anything.
Another one is when I wake up in my bed next to highly venomous, dangerous snake. I realize that I can either try to run past it or hope that it goes away. Either way, I'm probably going to die and there isn't much I can do about it.

Yep.
It's apparently a common dream.

These aren't dreams, these are nightmares. I had these nightmares for about 15 yrs after I graduated.
