So UPS, a super successful International Logistics Delivery company offers to help you with logistics of pick up and delivery and you turn them down?
Then you deserve what you get.

I don’t disagree. It doesn’t make any sense to work with someone who doesn’t know the area. It was clear the company wasn’t vetted appropriately, an easy Google search found their frick ups.

ETA: It’s unfortunate because it’s going to allow the state to takeover and that’s never a good thing. But they can only blame themselves on this one.

The current executive leadership in Kentucky is abhorrent. It cares about nothing but "equity" and bullshite like this.

If you’re speaking of Beshear, state legislators have worked in the last couple of sessions to really turn back his executive powers and he currently has a GOP super majority in our state congress that has overturned multiple vetos.

If shite isn’t getting done, that falls on state congress.

Big news here locally. JCPS is worse ran than any public school in Louisiana

It is hard to overstate how much of a shitshow JCPS is to outsiders.

A school district that is almost 80% white and with median household income almost $60K / year - so they don't have the demographics and poverty excuse to trot out - is one of the very worst public school districts in all of America.

I started subbing driving a school bus in the local district (6 HS, 30 Elementary) to help out and have something to do. It's too hot to do anything and at least the buses are air conditioned. Gives me some extra spending money too.

Other than being still short a couple of drivers, everything went fine. I actually ran on time too!

Parents should take the kids to school anyway
I wish more didn't because the traffic around the Elementary schools was horrific. One of my friends told me that his daughter picked up her daughter and by the time she got through the traffic , the bus I was driving for her neighborhood was already finished dropping the kids off. Yesterday his granddaughter rode my bus...he said that she's riding that bus on the days I drive that route.

Transportation is complicated here because they bus kids across the county to meet socioeconomic standards (it’s no longer based on race, that was overturned by the Supreme Court) in schools.

So they were forced to fix it and still f'd it up

How are they proposing the breakup of the district? City and county?

How late do the schools fun anyway? One of the parents said their kids got off the bus 7:00 and had a 3 hour bus ride. Do the schools there not let the kids out until 4:00? That just seems like an awfully long day for a kid.

My wife and I decided to put our kids in private school (when we really couldn't afford it) because public schools bussed kids from our neighborhood across town. There were first graders waiting for the bus when I went to work at 6:30 in the morning who did not get home until after 5:00. To me, that was too much to ask of a 6 year old, so we put our kids in the nearby private school.

Someone said 3-4 smaller districts. My guess is they’re gonna use I-65 (or Bardstown Rd) and I-64 as some dividers.

Gonna get rough for some folks when they realize property values fund their school taxes.
