I have 3 pets and I have hair on the floor constantly. Was looking at an I robot to help with the issue.

Neato xv-21. There was a huge thread a while back about them.

Yes and it's awesome. Scheduled to run once a day. Empty the bin every 1-2 days and you'll love it.

I was thinking of getting a Roomba also. I don't have pets, my wife is just a horrible housekeeper.

I can no longer wholeheartedly recommend this. Neato is releasing a new robot with side sweepers that get at the baseboard. I'd buy one of those when they become available.

I'm torn. I own two Neato XV-21s and based on the performance I'd recommend a Neato product. However, I own iRobot stock, so I want you to buy Roombas. LOTS of Roombas. I'd own Neato stock, too, if they were a publicly traded company.

I think the new Neato Botvacs are $500 or so. You probably won't see good discounts like on the XVs for some time, though, if I had to guess.

We got a roomba. Some pet model. It was like $250 at Costco and I love that little fricker.

If you are concerned about them doing what they advertise, don't be. I'm sure either brand will do a good job of cleaning your messy arse floors.

I've been watching the Neato's for a while. Neato XV-21 price has been hovering at $350 new for a while.

The new BotVacs Series come in 4 varieties but I can not determine the differences... if they are accessories or actually different vacs. There's 85, 80, 75, and 70e. The 85 is $600 and the 70e is $430.

I have the neato 21. Best purchase of my life. It runs every Friday while I'm at work and when I get home it's great to see a nicely vacuumed carpet. I really like the neato because it does straight lines and not the algorithm of the roomba

I see bad reviews about the battery on the neato. They say they only last year and a half

Not sure why straight lines matter to you. You aren't there when it runs.

I have a roomba and they work pretty well, they will maintain a clean floor pretty well. They will not replace a vac. or broom for a dirty floor though. If the wife is that bad a housekeeper you need a maid not a i-robot.
