You're just going back to the office? How big of a puss are you?

Being paid to be at home spending time with my wife and kids, in what was wonderful weather for South Louisiana that Spring, was really nice. The circumstances sucked, but I have fond memories of all the fun we had everyday.

My first child was born April 2020 and my job is travel based which means I was able to spend 3-4 months at home with my wife and new child.

I agree the circumstances were awful but for me the timing was great

I sneezed at work and got 14 paid days off, not taken from vacation.

Remember all the hospital weirdness? The visitor weirdness? The “should I go to the grocery store with this small child” weirdness? It was a strange time to experience parenthood for the first time. One thing that I thought was good was that the pediatrician offices made you wait in your car until they called you in. Now when I sit in the pediatrician waiting rooms hearing kids hack up lungs I’m like what are we doing people? We solved for this and then tossed the solution right out of the window.

Hell no for me. I'm a nurse who was working damn near everyday while all my friends and family were off and getting together every day. I was so jealous at the time.

I miss my six foot radius from the trashy people. I had hoped it would stick. No such luck.

I'm a bit of a homebody, so it kind of suited me to be honest. Also I got laid off March 2020, so I got severance plus the enhanced unemployment money.

I miss the feelings of importance I got when the authorities asked to see my papers and I flashed my essential workers badge and got a thank you for putting my life at risk every day

A lot about COVID lockdowns sucked. But there were a couple of things I wished had stayed over from it all:

- Personal space in lines/grocery store. Sorry but people up in my shite annoys me. Especially when it’s someone who has poor hygiene.

- People staying home from work when sick. Or just take a WFH day if possible. Don’t bring your contagious shite into work.

- Less traffic. Did not miss that shite whatsoever.
