Yes allowing one parent per child with no grandparents or aunts/uncles would be a good idea if they can pull it off. No post game hand shaking would be installed guidelines. Also maybe eliminating concession stands could help.

How many kids in playing high school baseball in Louisiana played travel ball?
Our high school kids started training Monday and following all CDC guidelines. No parents allowed indoors. Just coaches and players. Times are scattered, they’re doing videos, and using all the latest and greatest technology. They have over 60 kids from several different schools in the area. They’re turning kids away they have so much demand.

Eliminating concession stands means leagues would have to make their own park. Good luck with that.

They could just follow the same practices that all of the fast food places are using

I would encourage people bringing their own ice chest and food maybe and go up a couple dollars at the gate to make up for loss revenue. Would prohibit alot of the gathering at the line.

Umpire here. Here is what I am hearing:
1) tournaments are looking to start back in middle of May
2) not all fields will be used. They will be scattered around to keep more distancing.
3) bleachers will be closed off. Must bring your own chair so it’s easier to spread out.
4) one person at a time at the concession window. Next guest is about 10 feet back.
5) no physical touching at all before or after game, goes for coaches and players and umpires
6) pre game meeting and any in game conferences will abide by the 6 foot rule(which will look funny)

Travel sports is the downfall of kid sports and the parents make it that much worse. I have zero time to even keep house items running between work and the crazy travel ball schedule. And now the shite is all year long.

The bleacher idea is a good one.

Probably about the same time you can stick a large cucumber up your arse. Which is probably in a few weeks.

We need to get this season going. It has been my 5 year old’s life long dream to get a partial scholarship to LSUE. I can’t let this pandemic stop his development

You think those players in the Dominican Republic stopped playing? Hell no! We need to start playing again so we can keep up

The travel ball people I know have apparently started the “100 swing challenge” to keep up their “skills”.

We’re seriously considering a modified game.

I’m guessing there are several “World Series” host cities praying it restarts soon, for the sake of their restaurants, hotels, etc.

Surely it won’t be before I can go to my barber shop!

Under phase 1:
Schools and organized youth activities that are currently closed, such as daycare, should remain closed.
The guidance also says that bars should remain closed. However, larger venues such as movie theaters, churches, ballparks and arenas can operate but under strict distancing protocols.

How can you play baseball while abiding by the 6ft rule? At the plate there's 3 people within 6ft of each other.
All the players will possibly touch the same ball.
If you don't agree....then how will the game be played?
Most umpires already makes terrible calls....imagine what they will be like 6 ft behind the catcher
