One of my contractors loves when I call him. He says anything to get out of dow.

Did a turnaround there last year. Everyone working there either as a Contractor or for Shintech is pretty friendly. The worst part about it was the traffic in the afternoons. I couldn't work there if I had to drive up LA-1 to I-10 every afternoon.

The plant is unorganized as all hell. They are still new and working out the kinks of purchasing.
People there were mostly friendly when I was working on-site.

Shintech is a subsidiary of Shin-Etsu Chemical from Japan. They have a large PVC a plant in Freeport, Tx and I have called on them for years. Being Japanese owned, they are very loyal to their employees and you will have job security in spades. If you are thinking of moving up with the company, beware of their company culture, which is basically they don't trust round eyes! Getting things done can be a pain in the butt as they hate to change and when they do, it will be after years of meetings.
I worked at Georgia Gulf PVC unit and R&D For years and I think Shin-tech is taking a lot of their operators and engineers//managers.
