I got a brother in law graduating high school this year and thinks college is stupid because he already has a job and can make money. He may make $12 an hour doing what he does but he will probably still make that 10 years from now. I told him he will regret it one day but he won't listen. His parents didn't go either and he thinks he can just fall back and be a realtor one day like his uncle if needed. I told his parents they need to cut him off so he can see just how far his small paycheck will go after taxes, insurance and bills. But they'd rather protect him and let him find his path no matter how stupid it is.

College was the most fun I ever had. Why would you not give it a chance.

No, I always hated school. When I got out of high school the whole idea of going to school for another four years sounded like a nightmare.

plenty of regrets

I regret not doing better in HS and not giving a frick which would have gotten me a good scholarship to a better school

Then I regret not going to LSU because I was an idiot

Then I regret not doing better the first few years I was in college and fricking me over.

I'm proud that I pushed through and finished my degree, but things would be a lot easier if I had done things better. I still have a decent job and I'm young, but I still can't help having regrets.

The curse of Captain Hindsight's powers. Ha. I should and could have done much better in undergrad had I tried a littler more.

I like Darth V's comments

It is too easy to arm chair QB our lives. I would not trade my life- do things different but even the wrong choices should cause us to become better people

I dropped out of college in freshman year and drove a fire extguisher sales and service truck in the Chicago area for two years. I made $5.75 per hour and I spent countless house in that horrid traffic in the early 80s working with a blue collar crowd. Went back to school in 1985 and did not stop until I had my PhD from LSU. Absolutely no regrets. Life is good right now, and I also have the blue collar experience to look back on in life.

I don't really see the path I've chosen as a mistake (although I've mad plenty of mistakes along the way). I have a great life and have been very successful. That's why if given the chance I'd not change a thing I did to get to where I am now.

No. Had I gone to college instead of choosing he path I went my life would be completely different. I'd have never met my wife which means my kids would not exist.

Generic answer all people use when they frick up in life. Hahaha

On top of that so many of he life experiences I've had would be far different.

Your right, instead of trying crack in that back alley, you could have tried coke in a suit at the Governor's Mansion.
