Spent some of my teenage years in Jax, it is huge AF. Get used to meeting women who live 45 mins away from you on the reg.

I've been before but am not super familiar with the city. I do remember that it takes a long, long time to drive through it going north and south on 95

I've been looking at apts downtown, in 5 Points, and close to work.

Plenty of decent apts on hodges and kernan. Not a terrible area, reasonable drive to most places not called orange park. I live way out in the sticks, like my area code is no longer a 904. Neighbor behind me is in a different area code than me, and not a 904 either

I lived there for a while. Five points if your single and into dive bars. I lived near San Marco on east side of river. It's a little nicer. Jax is a great place to raise a family, just spread out. Not much to do unless you have a boat. A LOT of transplants from all over so it's a real mish mash place with no discernable identity. Good luck finding a restaurant that knows how to season food.

Just moved back to GA from St Augustine FL. You want to be around the town center area being 29 and single. I am married with kids and we lived by World Golf Village and that’s a family area.

Awesome place and lots to do there!! Enjoy it!!

I'm in Orange Park and my brother lives in Jax Beach. If you are working bear St John's town center I would look in that area (it's built up HUGE in the last year and a half). Hodges area is not bad either. Brother sold his condo there when moved to the beach. 5 points is fun but would be a drive to work when town center has everything right there plus the beach is 10-15 minutes away

The answer is Jax Beaches area, hands down. Lived there for a year and still miss it. Great vibe.

Next choice would be Avondale / 5 Points

Yeah Southside Area is not a bad place to work . There are plenty of places to rent around that area and the beach is not that far away for renting as well. Yeah towncenter where you will be working should be a good place for a young single guy.As stated before you should be able to rent relatively close to your work with no problems. Im sure the weather situation will be much better than your current living location

Seconded (thirded?). You won’t like Ponte Vedra unless you have a soccer mom wife who spends all day driving like shite in a luxury SUV you can’t afford as she bounces between yoga at the beach club and swim classes at Sawgrass.

I do. I really like it here. Do you know what part of town your office will be in, but i know people that live out Fleming Island way that work over near town center mall. Under 30 and social scene.. If office were town center area/southside...i'd look at intracoastal /beach area. If downtown southbank id start with riverside avondale. If your office is on the west side, You can probably live anywhere because you go counter everyone else.(i go yrs without goingover the buckman bridge though) I presently live in san marco and wevlove it as great area for families. Just wished we had better flight options.

From November-April, it definitely will be. Summers in Cleveland are pretty cool though to be honest.

Based on responses in this thread and some research I've done, I think I'm going to focus on the Jax Beach area.

The beach is always a nice place but if your looking for something other than the beach, and if you have the money, Deerwood and Ortega and Avondale are the nicest places to live. San Marco is a very low lying area that gets flooded even with just a thunderstorm. Ive lived in Jax for most of my life and know this city. As to beach living, Ponte Vedra is the best if your willing to drive to Jax. Atlantic Beach is "ok".

Lots of truth by Dawgirl. Lived in Jax for 20+ years. I'm married though, single scene is the Atl Beach area, 5 Points. Rockville is awesome every year, downtown absolutely is awful for anything to do other than work and going to Jags games. They love the Gators here and some Dawgs fans. Got a cool little resteraunt that is full on LSU/Saints love off of Beach Blvd called Gumbo YaYa's. Free shots when LSU scores a touchdown.
