I get them every couple of weeks. unbelievably painful.
Trigger for me is lack of sleep or disrupted sleep schedule. I am at my best with about 6 hours of sleep. Less is okay. More than 8 hours is literally priming me for a cluster to frick up the rest of my day.
I have a toddler so yeah its not easy to get the right amount of sleep all the time.

I had them up until my 30’s. My doctor prescribed me something called Topamax after trying nearly everything including pain killers that would not work. It’s the only thing that worked for me and I had them bad. I would get them at least twice a week and the stuff was a godsend.

I'm 55 years old and have never had a headache of any kind. Ever

I had a four day headache last week and have them frequently. My pain is behind my left eye, vision gets blurry, and some dizziness. I just want everyone to leave me alone and curl up in bed with a pillow vice gripped around my head. I bought some new thera ice wrap to try. I called my doctor but since I’m new to the practice they just said go to urgent care. I will next time it happens. I’ve had some type of nose spray in the past that did not help. Tylenol and Advil are as good as eating a few skittles so I don’t take them because there is no point other than damaging my liver and GI systems.

Been dealing with them most of my life. Had very few the last 5 years. Beer was a major contributor to mine.
my beer intake increased a bit over the last week and then i started getting them...now i know its definitely the culprit. i thought it was my caffeine intake.

Had them and migraines for years. The thing that helped was maxalt but only if I caught it in time. Or else it would turn into a full blown migraine and then I need a dark cold room and probably won’t go away until I vomit. Now I’m on many Botox shots in my head and they work very well for about a month and a half. Insurance only allows to get injections every 3 months though. I can tell when the injections wear off. Hope this helps.

Lasted about three days, I could feel it pop or break when it ended. Behind the left eye.
Hmm, I had what sounds like this, severe pain behind the eye, but it was only 20-30 minutes long. It was on a flight and never happened since, so I thought it was a sinus pressure fluke.

Much sympathies if you are getting cluster headaches...
42 yrs old. Started getting them in mid 20's. Worst pain ever...not called the suicide headache for nothing. Would get them seasonally, usually around winter time. Have skipped a year on occasion. Alcohol and nicotine usually triggered the onset. The cycle would usually last a few weeks getting them nightly. The onset of a headache would wake me up in the middle of the night. After immediately taking BC powder, I would pace around the house rubbing my eye for about an hour or so until the monster finally would go away. The headache wouldn't allow me to sit still or lie in bed. In early 2015, neurologist prescribed a steroid pack to break the cycle and it worked within a week. Also prescribe the Imitrex injections. The Imitrex injection worked like a magic eraser on the cluster headache (freaking amazing how fast it worked), but the rebound headache is something to be concerned about. After lots of research, stumbled across posts on an online health forum that made mention of use of melatonin to keep them at bay. Started taking 5 to 10mg of melatonin nightly until flood of 2016 rearranged life habits and got off the melatonin.
Late fall/early winter of 2016, the monster came back and went through another steroid pack and injections to end the cycle. Soon realized the melatonin might have been helping and got back on it. Have been taking melatonin nightly and, knock on wood, have not had a cluster headache since. Scared to go a night without taking melatonin out of fear it will return.
just my $.02. Good luck baw...feel for you.

My cousin suffers from cluster headaches and says it’s another symptom of his fibromyalgia

It's micro dosing so you don't feel much. It was recommended by a neurologist but they can't prescribe it so I found some. I live in Colorado and on January 23, 2023 it will be legal to grow and give away.

You can get it from someone you trust enough to be able to micro dose? Seems like that would be difficult without a lab testing it. How did you figure out your dose? I've had headaches for a long time due to a couple bad concussions and have heard great things about hallucinogenics for treating that and more, so I'd be very interested in getting some shrooms and self-medicating, but I'm not wanting to trip very hard.

I had them about 3 years when I was working dialysis.Had to be some kind stress related thing, never happened on my days off or after I changed jobs.
They would hit me like a lightening bolt behind my L eye ,my eye would water and felt like an ice pick sticking in my brain.
Every step I took would feel like I was being hit in head with a hammer.
I would tough it out somehow, never left work.

I get them whole and dried, then grind them and put about .25 g in a capsule. Different varieties have different affects. I like Tidal Wave as they are super mellow. Take with vitamin B3(niacin) and Lions Mane. The 3 combined provide neurogenesis, the formation of new neuronal connections. I also do a microbiome analysis and have a prescribed diet which has hepled, too.

I had them for a string of about 5 years. By far the worst pain I’ve ever felt, any nothing ever came close.
Last doctor prescribed be a type of anti- inflammatory pill to take as soon as I would get one and I’ve never had them since.

Yes. I had them years ago and they were absolutely debilitating.

No but my dad and one of my friends had/have it. They both have to get their oxygen ramped up by either running or physical activity. You might also want to consider getting an oxygen tank which helps a lot even though it's a slow process getting. God speed man. I feel your pain.

Look into micro dosing shrooms.
They completely got rid of my aunts cluster headaches.
She was on the verge of suicide before trying them.

Haven’t had one in a few years. They call them suicide headaches for a reason. Damned things woke me up in the middle of the night. Always at the same time. They also call them alarm clock headaches because of their consistency. I was treated effectively with 40 mg of prednisone for 1 week then a slow taper. Verapimil tablets twice per day and sumatriptan if I started to experience one. The sumatriptan reduced the length of time of a headache from 2 hours to about 20 minutes. I wish you the best of luck with this. It’s miserable.

I had them for years. They finally fizzled out. The only relief that I could get was to microwave water and a wash cloth as hot as I could stand it. Then apply it to your temple, above the ear, forehead. It will burn at first, but it will cut the searing pain for a few minutes. I would do that several times a day until the headache cycle retreated. This is the ONLY thing that worked for me.
Cluster headaches are the worst sustained pain I have ever experienced.

Very sorry to hear. I am actually in day 2 of one. Family curse. Started subsiding a few hours ago finally.
Hope your pain is relieved soon.
Rx drugs are the only thing that touch mine.
Old school stuff though. That crap you see on TV doesn't do shite for mine.
