Yep, when I was 11. Just had to lay low for a week which was awesome because I got to miss school.
The worst part was before surgery. My mom told me I just needed to shite before she finally took me to the hospital. After the surgery I don't remember any pain or discomfort.

Had mine out about 25 years ago, old school 3 inch incision, was to the point of rupture. 2 days in hospital then 6 weeks of light duty.

I almost died from a ruptured appendix. Spent 3 months in the hospital. Feel lucky about your outpatient procedure

Had it when I was 15 or 16. Major stomach pains and my mom told me I was probably just constipated, so she gave me laxatives. I can’t describe the pain of having your appendix close to rupturing and having to run to a toilet every 10 minutes with volcanic diarrhea. Turns out my appendix had enlarged around my colon and small intestine and I had to have emergency surgery. The gas that got stuck in my shoulders was the worst pain but I was back to pretty much normal in like a week. You just have to make sure not to put too much physical strain on your abdomen until you get your stitches out.
TLDR: yes I had one, it will be about a week to get back to normal

Had mine removed when I was in 8th grade. Went to the hospital and the Dr's thought it was something with my liver because I should have been in a lot more pain if it was my appendix. Got sent home and had a Dr. visit the following week. By that night I was in blinding pain and my parents rushed me to the hospital the next morning. Turns out it was my appendix and it not only burst, but gangrene had set in. Was in the hospital for 5 days with a tube removing excess fluid. My parents were never charged for the initial Dr visit that misdiagnosed me, nor the ER visit
ETA: I think I was back playing basketball within a week, once the staples were removed

That’s One of the only good things. My deductible is already met for the year. So thankfully it just cost me my co-pay $200.

Had my appendix rupture. Two weeks later I was cleared to go back to work. One day later after being back at work i woke up in worse pain than the ruptured appendix.
Intestines kinked like a hose. New surgery. This time cut from naval to waist line. Several weeks later had staples removed. Soon after the wound started to dehisce. They wouldn't close it up. After the wound closed, finally, the internal sutures stated abscessing.
Wound up missing more than 3 months of work. But my experience was an anomaly. If anything could go wrong, it did.

went to the ER saturday night for severe stomach cramping, and nausea and vomiting. turns our i had appendicitis and had to have emergency surgery yesterday morning. curious to here your experiences on recovery, back to work times, working out, normal activities. obviously pretty sore this morning and hate taking pain meds. but you gotta do what you gotta do.
You get the dots or the big gash?

Back in 1971 at Fort Ord Army Hospital. I was sick for 3 days before they finally decided to operate. Recovery was fine.

I’ve never had one, I did, however, help our general surgeon take one out before.

Mine ruptured at age 43. Rotten and gangrenous. 3 hour surgery. Week in hospital, another at home. Eight inch scar.

Mine was laparoscopic. One cut about 2 inches below the belly button, one just left, and one about an inch directly above the belly button.

I had a very similar experience. Spent hours in the ER with severe abdominal pain and vomiting. They ended up taking it out... I was down about 9-12 days. Definitely try to get lots of bed rest for that first week. Don't rush to get back in the gym, especially any abdominal/ core workouts. You don't want to risk hernia.

Mine burst in me when they were removing it so my experience would not compare well with yours.

At the time I was an ironworker. Had it done on Wed. Took off Thursday-Friday, went back to work for a week on light duty for a week. Back to normal the following Monday.

Mine was ruptured for almost 3 weeks. It blew the hell off so my stomach didn't just hurt on the right side and I was misdiagnosed. I was 13 - spent just shy of 100 days in the hospital. I weighed 150 lbs pre appendectomy and 80 lbs when I got out.

I had one about 8 years ago. Thought I had to take a terrible shite and let it go for a day or so. Bad idea.....the surgery and recovery was painless though. They did the laparoscopic appendectomy and I just had 3 very small incisions instead of the giant gash they used to do.
