I commute Mid-city to Plaquemine every day. 25 minutes in the morning is pretty consistent if you leave by 6:30.
Drive home averages 65-75 minutes. Mondays are usually lighter ~45 minutes. Thursdays are usually the worst. Bad rain at quitting time or wrecks will push it to 2 hours. That is usually less than weekly.
Occasionally there are longer term issues that can make every day a 2 hour commute home: work on the intracoastal bridge, sunshine bridge problems, etc...

Prairieville to Plaq here. Going on 4 years. I am looking for the right opportunity to come back East. Like all others have said the Morning is not bad at all outside of the occasional wreck. The afternoons are hell. It gets worse as the week goes on. Mondays not terrible however Thursday and Fridays suck big time.

Well first thing you have to do is not get on the on ramp at the intracoastal. You need to drive underneath and turn around in Port Allen and come back that way. That right there will save you 30 mins. Then when you get on the Miss River bridge get off at the exit at the base of the bridge and dont sit in line at the merge to I-10. You can cut through Terrace St or Louise St (The Ghetto) and get back on the interstate and skip traffic once again. Once you get to the 10-12 split it opens up. So you can believe me or not but I do it everyday and Im not in a helicopter.
