It was 2 lane north of Blue Cross entrance in the 90s
Was a dead end not too far north of there. Remember the bitchfest when they wanted Bluebonnet to go through that neighborhood.

The field also turned into an impromptu used car lot. Individuals selling a car would park it out there with the sale details on the window. That got a little out of hand and the city put a stop to it
Remember all the cars parked where Perkins Rowe is now. That corner stayed packed.

Part of the mall opened before the food court and I remember standing outside of Sears and looking around a tarp to see the Carousel construction in progress. 7 year old me thought putting a carousel in a mall was the wildest thing ever.
Same. I was about 13 when it opened and I thought the water bridges was the coolest thing ever at Cortana

I also seem to recall a Racetrac gas station that had a little movie rental place on the side. I can't remember of that was on Bluebonnet or somewhere else. It also sold really good popcorn and the gas station hot dogs were cheap.
This was recently torn down after being vacant for years. That area could use another gas station but you’d only be able to turn right out of the parking lot which isn’t ideal.

Was this where Buffalo Wild Wings is now?

No. The gas station is closer to the interstate in front of BR General. I think the BWW used to be K&B though. The Rouse's was a Delchamp's and there was also a Sicily's Pizza Buffet around where Mi Padres is located.
When I first started LSU in 1991, I used to always take the Dalrymple or College exit. One day I decided to go down Bluebonnet to Burbank, and the only thing I remember from the interstate to Burbank was BR General, Jimmy Swaggart, and Mulates.

This and Ralph and Kacoos was the only thing out that way
I was about to post the exact thing. I remember going to Ralph's when I was at LSU.
Actually, I remember watching the World Series when the Red Sox Bill Buckner let the ball go through his legs, at Ralph and Kaccos.
I'm pretty sure Jimmy Swaggart's ministry was there at that time also (mid to late 80's)

I got to work on one of the anchor stores during rough in and a little bit at the end of the project when I was in college. Also worked across the street on the old Ochsners building by the general.
On a side note, wasn’t until the wall work until a lot of Texas licensee plate contractors made their May to BR.
Was a huge uptick in Latino workers…..

Yeah I know the gas station. It’s across bluebonnet from the mall.
I remember Sicily’s well
I remember that whole shopping center. Always had trouble remembering what BWW was back then. I remember Mamacitas was there for a bit after leaving the strip by Albasha closer to the interstate.

Seems like Mamacita’s started in Catfish Town, moved the the Cadillac Café center then down past 6 Flags Over Jesus before it was gone for good.

Swaggert owned the property in the eighties. There was a model airplane field there. It moved to the inside of the Burbank turn after the first mall construction deal that fell through. The entrance was about where the main entrance is and it was on top of the hill. Kleinpeters owned the field behind that from about the back of the mall.

I have no idea. Other than passing through on the interstate I haven’t been to the old neighborhoods in Baton Rouge in 20 years.
