A friend of mine in from out of town and his wife want to go and I was only able to secure one extra...

Alright tigertiger I can get your friend in. You won't need a ticket. Tell him to approach the bouncer and ask him how the weather is. If the bouncer says he's expecting rain, say "Good. We need rain" and he'll escort you to the VIP section. If the bouncer says it's sunny out, abandon mission and go back home. It means you've been compromised

1) coronation ball tickets are very difficult to find.
2) no one checks for tickets. Dress the part and waltz in.
I know it's not ideal but that's how it goes.
