My stepmom just got a replacement about a month ago, went home two days later and was using a walker to get around. Replacement is the way to go.

My son has a pinned in hip due to a disease he had when about 11. Long recovery but you would never know he had it now after five years. They say he will need hip replace probably when he is in his 30s. They say those only good for 10 to 15 years with that number going down every time you get one. Could be an issues by the time he is in 60s but hoping science can just grow him another leg by then or something.

seems to be the way we will go. We’ve got some good PT provided around us so hopefully it’s a fast recovery.
Thanks to all for the feedback

Hip Replacement. My stepmother was up walking the evening after the surgery.

Anterior approach hopefully. Easier precautions and tends to be less pain from the hundreds of each I’ve treated

. I’ve known surgeons that do 15 knee patients in one day.

My mom had a knee replacement about the same time and that was like 10x more difficult, which scares me b/c I have bad knees from sports.
It's not 1995. Look up your local Regenexx ortho clinic and get a stem cell treatment.

I had total hip replacement almost two years ago on the tight hip. It was one of the best decisions I made. I’m more active and can move more now than before due to the pain. She won’t regret making the decision to get one and I can’t think of a single downside!

The surgery got finished in approximately 45 minutes with no issues. That is shocking to me.
Modern medicine is amazing.

Both replaced. He did it from the front. No problems. Easy recovery.

I was told to give up running. The doctor said only run if someone is chasing you.

My Dad had his hip replaced at age 89. Still getting around well at going on 97. Said the rehab and recovery was way easier than with his knee replacement when he was 72.

My aunt just went through the same break. They did full hip replacement. Kept her in the hospital a week and sent her to rehab hospital for a month.
Never heard of sending someone home that quick especially because of blood clot possibilities.
