I have a nephew who's got a few screws loose, back when he was about 15 his mom took him shopping for Christmas and spent $500.00 on cloths and other stuff plus bought him a new ($700.00) I-Phone.
She figured he was a little old for Santa.
We are all sitting around Christmas morning drinking coffee when he comes in the living room looking for his Santa gifts which were none. He says real loud "frick SANTA" and goes back to bed

yeah, my kids, with seemingly everything we ever get them...
i'm kidding, but i do think they are a little too spoiled for their own good.... as they age, we both will make sure they get ahold of some humility...

Pretty lame to use a kid as an example. Kids have no filter and react based on how they are feeling in that moment. You teach them with repetition and consistency to be grateful, say thank you, and along the way, they develop the ability to understand the nature of a gift.
