That's exactly what I was suggesting. Everyone knows how lazy cops are. It's a proprosal of annoyance and spite. Have to work a little harder to frick people and save your own arse? Oh well.

Probably so.

My theory about it is that the police tend to be about as respectful as the general population usually is. I'm a white guy but when I lived in BR I met quite a few cops who were just nasty people. Yelling all the time, bad attitudes generally. The only time they were pleasant was at an accident scene.

Now I live in Arlington county, one of the wealthiest places in the country. Basically everyone over 30 has a six figure income and a college degree, everyone under 30 is probably on the way to that. There's very little crime. The cops here are downright nice, almost Canadian.

But I can understand that if you spend your working day dealing with the dregs of society it would make you no fun to be around eventually.
