Enjoy those unreasonable verdicts and thank your attorneys who sponsor LSU sports.

I switch from Progressive To Geico and back every 3-4 years because of the price issues you all are mentioning.

I drove like a retard for a few year stretch so my record isnt the best but things are starting to fall off. here in another year or so it should be clean and im gonna start shopping like crazy. Ive had progressive for a while and have had no problems with them but i know the premium wont go down once the record clears unless i switch.

In Orleans- insurance problem number one.

Yep. We're paying USAA $6,030 annually for three cars, two of which have no collision insurance (2010 and 2012 models). Get in an at-fault accident, we fix it or buy our next car out of pocket. One of the 3 cars is registered in BR. No accidents or violations in last 3 years. Policy renews in August - can't wait to see the renewal (fortunately daughter will be on her own policy by then).

Wife wants a new car but I'm trying to hold off until we move out of Orleans or ideally to TX.

In the past we had SF, by necessity (they would only write homeowners if we moved our auto policy to them). Moved back to USAA a few years ago once USAA resumed writing homeowners south of I-10, and saved a decent amount on the auto policy. At least USAA sends dividends to policyholders each year, taking out a bit of the sting.

Between auto, homeowners and health insurance we're at about $35,000 per year (and we pay the first $6,500 of medical claims on a high deductible plan). Self-employed. We'd have a nice nest egg if we could have self-insured for the last 10 years or so.

No accidents/tickets, 2 vehicles went from 1500 to 1900/6mo.

Left them for Progressive this month for the same reason.

You do WHAT?!

I've got three as well, all full coverage, for about $2,700 a year. A 2010, 2013, and 2023. That price is shocking.

Yep. Though we do have max coverage limits (required in order to have an umbrella policy).

On the homeowner's front, we had Ida damage but didn't think of making a claim (probably wouldn't have hit the named storm deductible anyway). All of our insurance is basically catastrophic coverage, and it's still outrageously expensive.

Loyalty means nothing in insurance. You should shop your insurance every year.

I had GEICO for almost 15 years and they started going up every year. I finally called to switch companies because State Farm was charging a little over half of what GEICO was. When I called GEICO and told them I was switching they said “Let’s see if we can get you a better rate.” They beat State Farm by $2/month. I still left because that’s BS that they were overcharging that much just because I was a long time customer.

Signed up with Progressive @820/6mo.

Screw you Geico.

OT saved me $1000+ today.

Thanks everyone!

Yes.

Louisiana.

Canceling May 1st when my new policy from a different company kicks in.

No changes in coverage, aside from the provider, and managed to reduce it substantially. Over $150/month reduction.
