I sent mine in about a week or two ago, and I just got word that my frames are discontinued. They've asked me to visit a few retailers to try on the different styles they have, and ...

anyone ever got this response? i'm curious what the response "possible costs" would add up to be.

My guess is that you are going to get a discount (maybe 10-20%) on some new sunglasses.

Weird. 10 years ago today, my Facebook status was about my costas getting fixed. This could’ve literally been me.

The difference in the cost of your old pair and your new pair.

I've sent my hammerheads back and got a new pair. Now the black paint is coming off so I'll probably do it again.

I just sent in 2 pairs. that this happened to my Bombas and Wave Killers R.I.P :( One was the lens and one was the Frame.

I was able to get Permits and a Fisch as a replacement for about 150$ for both. Both of these were 580 glass so they are more than others.

It was always easy. Lenses were the only thing that costs a bit extra. I believe anything frame related was free and lenses were around $80.

Yes, for a cracked 580 glass lense. They reviewed my glasses and determined the frame was failing (lifetime warranty). They sent me a new pair in 2 weeks. Best customer service department in my experience.

ETA: I paid $80 for a brand new pair.

the reason i sent mine in is that it appeared that the tint on the lense was coming off. there was a ring forming on the tint along the edge of the frame.

Sent in a pair of Costa Cat Cays for frame and lens repair. Authorized about $90 on my card for Costa to do any work needed and paid another $11 or so to ship them USPS w/insurance and tracking back to Costa.

For about $100 total, they shipped me a brand new pair no questions asked.

Meaning I saved about $60-75 bucks. I'd imagine they're going to look at what you authorized, and then what you want, subtract the difference and give you a discounted price on the new frames you want.

Yes. I sent in my pair about 5 years ago and they replaced them almost immediately with no hassle.

I sent in another pair last year and they wouldn't replace anything. It was a 2 month old pair of Costas that snapped in half one day when I was riding in my boat. I was up on plane and the middle part just gave out.

They refused to do anything and offered a 15% discount.

Their quality has declined and their customer service has gone to dog shite. I won't ever buy another pair.

Same thing happened to me last year. Picked out what pair I liked and they sent those with lenses that matched my old pair. I think I had to to pay the original repair charge of $40. Great customer service just takes a week or two to get them back.

Yes, I've had discontinued glasses replaced with new models, they will likely credit you for the orig MSRP of what you paid for the first models you bought.

I’ve never returned them for this reason but my friend did and they only charged him for shipping.
