Pure temperature has very little to do with overall discomfort. Hell, places like Columbia, SC don't get above 95 but they're absolutely unbearable bc it's 100% humidity.
I've been in Kuwait when it's 110+, and no I didn't love it, but we regularly walked a couple hundred yards to grab lunch each day with no issue. Humidity is all that matters. When I lived in Houston you wore a shirt once in the summer, and it was done. In a place like Kuwait (or presumably Phoenix) with no humidity, it's nothing like that.

Friend of mine was living in New Orleans for years and moved back to her hometown, Tucson. In 3 years it looked like she aged about 30 years.

No shite you liked Scottsdale, everybody likes Scottsdale. It’s one of the most affluent places in the country. Phoenix is just nearby.

Well your friend must not know what the frick moisturizer is for.
I’m 40 and been here since I was 27. I have great skin for my age even living in a desert. Yeah it’s drier here....just means you have to take better care of your skin. Drink more water. Wear sunscreen all the time, etc.

Weather still sucks today. Hopefully will stop raining this weekend and warm up.
It snowed in north Scottsdale yesterday. Crazy weather out west. My friends in Vegas got a lot of snow yesterday and kids stayed home cause of it.

I had the chance to live there a few years ago for grad school. Would have loved it, I think.
CoL is good except for Scottsdale, which as mentioned is extremely wealthy.
I was mostly excited about the opportunities for outdoor activities. Hiking is stellar in the metro area but you’re also in driving distance to Sedona, Prescott, and Flagstaff. Day trip distance.
Then the West is accessible. ~Five hours gets you to LA, San Diego, the Grand Canyon, Vegas, and Mexican beaches if you dare.
Only reservation I had was the public schools. They’re mostly shite. Private school is a necessity and the high ranking charter schools aren’t always that great for education as they are standardized test scores.

Really just depends where you live at.
I have friends in various parts of PHX metro and they send their kids to public school with no issues.

The south in the summer is worse. It’s hot as shite here but if you stay in the shade and indoors it’s fine, it’s easier to escape than humidity. There is zero kidnapping here unless maybe you are an illegal. I’ve lived here around 30 years of my life and never heard of a single white person being kidnapped, or any other person for that matter besides a parent taking one of their kids..not even on the news.
