That's none of your business, and I'll thank you to stay out of my personal affairs.

Did it help you? Was it worth it? Did/do you regret it?

Are you doing your procedure through Dr. anand at GNO snoring. I had an inferior nasal turbinate procedure there and it was a breeze, felt bad for only a day.

weight is not necessarily an issue although I could use to lose a few lbs, it wouldn't hurt

I just had a tonsillectomy in October. The pain was manageable, the recovery was more uncomfortable than anything. My uvula filled with fluid and it felt like I was choking on it for a few days. Pain and uncomfortability turned after 10 days. Wish I would have gotten a uvulaplasty or at least had it augmented. Since my procedure I caught a little sinus infection and that little bitch filled with fluid and gave me the sensation like I was choking again for a few days.
I’m getting a septuplasty and rhinoplasty in a few months and may see if my ENT Plastic Surgeon will trim my uvula. However, my ENT who preformed the tonsillectomy claims the uvula will get better after 3 or 4 months post op. Apparently the fluid which would normally drain through the sinus (I.e., nasal passages to tonsils) needs to find another passage way and until then the uvula will continue to fill with fluid whilst snotty.
Better than recurrent strep though. Enjoy.
P.S. take the freaking bowel softener ASAP. Even though you aren’t having bowel movements from not eating, take it.

Those things were annoying as hell during the World Cup a few years ago.

Anyone ever seen a word this long without a single "e"?

It sucked.
I was doped up for quite a while on codeine syrup for a while after and was limited in what I could eat for a while, both not to aggravate the stitches and not to have anything red in color in case I miss any potential bleeding coming from the stitches.
If you can basically lay down and not do stuff for a few weeks, it can be Ok.
If you think you will be back up and active shortly after surgery, you are sadly mistaken.

I’ve never had one but I’ve taken care of many post op. They will bleed and they can be dangerous and as previously mentioned very painful.
If you stay in the hospital 1st night (you really should) then you will have access to good pain meds and someone watching you. It’s your airway, lose that and you are done unless you have all the right help. There will be swelling. Ice packs to your throat as previously mentioned.
This is a good and beneficial surgery. But it won’t feel like it at first. Done thousands of times successfully. But I knew a doctor who had something similar done who died at home the night after surgery. Some on here will know who I’m talking about

I would see another surgeon for a second opinion. And I would ask what the success rate of the procedure is in their own practice. I see a lot of ent surgeons trending away from UPPP. It’s super painful and there’s about a 50/50 shot at your outcome being beneficial to remedy your problems.

I had it done in my 40's along with fixing a deviated septum. You need to get a recliner as that is the only way you can sleep for a few weeks.
Make sure you get stool softeners from your doc and take them. That was actually the worst part - you eat nothing but soft foods, juice, ice cream and taking antibiotics. You are then locked up tighter than Dick's hat band.

Is this a Welsh procedure?

The long term benefits of the surgery are great. The path to getting there was just extremely unpleasant.

I’m shocked by how many on here have had this surgery.
shite, a year and a half after it, I had a mid-face advancement. Had my jaw wired shut for 3 months.
Basically moved my upper palate and lower jaw 8mm forward.
